Cowboys and Eagles clash for NFC East survival as division winless streak continues
Both teams sit at 2-4 after a historic two-week slump, with Philadelphia's offense now led by backup quarterback Tanner McKee.

The NFC East has gone winless for two consecutive weeks, a first since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger. This statistical anomaly sets the stage for a Monday night game in Philadelphia where both contenders, the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles, seek a path back to the top of the division.
Philadelphia enters the game with a four-game losing streak, its first of that length since 2020. The Eagles have scored only 58 points during this skid, indicating offensive issues that extend beyond the quarterback position. Jalen Hurts is on injured reserve with blood clots and will miss the remainder of the season. Tanner McKee, who has spent most of his first two NFL seasons as a backup, now commands the offense. He received more than a full week of preparation with first-year offensive coordinator Sean Mannion, a marked improvement from the two days of practice he had before last week's loss to Carolina.
The Eagles face a scarcity of healthy running backs. Saquon Barkley has missed more than two games with a hamstring injury, though a return is possible. Backups Will Shipley and Tank Bigsby are also hurt, and Carson Steele injured his shoulder against Carolina. Dameon Pierce was the only healthy option last week, rushing for 35 yards. Dallas allows 4.7 yards per carry this season, a statistic that could help McKee's struggling attack.
Dallas carries its own offensive struggles, having scored only 29 points in its last two losses, which included a 23-13 defeat to Green Bay. The team has scored fewer than 20 points in consecutive starts for Dak Prescott for the first time since 2019. Defensively, the Cowboys rank 30th in the league under first-year coordinator Christian Parker. Owner Jerry Jones stated at the NFL's annual fall meeting on Wednesday that he does not expect further coaching changes this season. He characterized the recent hiring of Mike Pettine as strategic and unique.
Several individual milestones are at stake in the matchup. Javonte Williams is the second Cowboys player with seven rushing touchdowns through six games, trailing only Emmitt Smith from 1994 and 1995. CeeDee Lamb holds 48 receptions, the most in franchise history through six games, and is approaching 8,000 career receiving yards. Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert needs one catch to move into third place on the team's career receptions list.
The Cowboys are favored by 4 points, with a 3-3 record against the spread compared to Philadelphia's 1-5. Dallas leads the all-time series 72-58 and won the most recent meeting 24-21 on Nov. 23, 2025. The game kicks off at 7:15 p.m. CST on ESPN. The Eagles will play at Washington on Nov. 1, then host the Giants to conclude a divisional stretch that will determine if their season remains competitive.
