Anthony Lloyd, a 38-year-old man convicted of actual bodily harm, vanished from a medical facility in Lewisham on Friday afternoon. The Metropolitan Police have launched a search that extends beyond the capital into six other counties.

Officers say Lloyd forced his way out of the health unit shortly after 4 pm on October 23. He was last seen walking toward Catford at approximately 4:10 pm. Police described him as white, 5ft 8in tall, with a medium build and short dark hair. He wore a grey-blue T-shirt, black tracksuit bottoms, and white trainers at the time of his exit.

Lloyd was sentenced to 12 months in custody in 2025 for an incident in Nottinghamshire involving three emergency services workers. He was transferred to the Lewisham medical facility in September. The Metropolitan Police stated that he poses a risk to himself and the public. They instructed witnesses to call 999 immediately if they spot him and to avoid approaching him directly.

Det Supt Melanie Pressley is leading the investigation. She noted that officers are conducting various inquiries to locate Lloyd and return him to custody. Pressley urged the public to report any details, however small, to help narrow the search area.

The search initially focused on London, where police believe Lloyd could be anywhere in the city. The scope expanded to include areas where Lloyd has known links. These include Surrey, Sussex, Thames Valley, Hampshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, and Merseyside.

The Metropolitan Police issued a statement on Saturday confirming the manhunt. They provided a reference number for callers: CAD4739/23Oct. The force continues to treat the situation as urgent, seeking information to pinpoint Lloyd's current location.
